APPROVING EASEMENT VACATION FOR KARINIEMI ADDITION FOR NATE KARINIEMI
ON THE 52.8-ACRE SITE AT 6780 ROLLING HILLS ROAD AND 6855 WILLOW DRIVE (PID
33-119-23-22-0004 AND 33-119=23-21-0001) (CITY FILE 20-036)
WHEREAS, Nate Kariniemi ("the applicant") has requested approval of an easement
vacate the existing drainage and utility easements on a parcel legally described as:
vacation to
Lot 3, Block 1, ROLLING HILLS ACRES, Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to the
recorded plat thereof.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the final plat for "Kariniemi Addition" on December 21,
2020, which will provide new drainage and utility easements adjacent to the new lot lines and over
water bodies as required by City Code;
WHEREAS, the applicant has requested vacation of the existing easements from the "Rolling Hills
Acres" subdivision legally described as follows:
All of the drainage and utility easements as dedicated on the recorded plat of ROLLING
HILLS ACRES, Hennepin County, Minnesota, contained within Lot 37 MOCK 1.
WHEREAS, the Corcoran City Council considered this item at a Public Hearing;
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing was mailed to all landowners of property directly abutting
the area to be vacated and to all utility companies serving the area;
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing was published in the official newspaper;
WHEREAS, the City finds that the existing drainage and utility easements are no longer required
as new easements will be dedicated with the plat for the Kariniemi Addition; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request for an easement
vacation, subject to the following conditions:
1. The applicant must record the resolution approving the vacation at Hennepin County and
provide the City of Corcoran with proof of recording.
2. The applicant must record the resolution approving the vacation with the final plat for
Kariniemi Addition.
