A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
TEXT OF CHAPTER 81 AND CHAPTER 1040 OF THE CORCORAN CITY CODE RELATED
TO COMMERCIAL DOG KENNELS (CITY FILE 17-037)
WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to prepare an ordinance amendment to update the
City Code to not allow commercial kennels as interim use permits in the RR and UR districts

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the Dog Kennei Ordinance
text amendment based upon the following findings:
1. The proposed amendment would be consistent with State law and the Cifiy's
Comprehensive Plan, and compatible with other provisions %J the City Code.
2. The amendmenfi would amend the ordinance to allow Commercial Dog Kennels in
commercial areas, but not residential areas.
3. The amendment would establish standards to ensure appropriate transitions between
the commercial kennel and adjacent commercial uses.
