A RESOLUTION HONORING THE 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE PARKS AND TRAILS
COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City Council established the Parks and Trails Commission in Ordinance 188 on
August 14, 2003; and
WHEREAS, prior to its establishment the Natural Resources Committee began on July 25, 2001;
and
WHEREAS, its duties have included the creation of a comprehensive City parks and trails system
and acting in advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to parks and trails including the purchase, sale,
employment, use and management of the park system; and
WHEREAS, some of the key accomplishments include updating the parks plan for the 2020,
2030, and 2040 comprehensive plan; planning for future athletic space including recommending the
purchase of new park lands; reviewing development proposals to protect natural resources; updating the
park dedication ordinance; and initiating the construction of the parks and trails system; and
WHEREAS, many Commission members have served including Dennis Stieg, Chad Robran,
on Anderson, Gina Dorethy, Craig Brolin, Bob Lamond, Joel Johnson, Val Nybo, Brenfi Anderson,
Liane Laddusaw, Rosalyn Milbrandt, Kevin Dale, Trish Krueger, Pat Hank, Joan Parks, Tom Cossette,
Robert Vassallo, Rachel Tessmer, Judy Strehler, Deb Regan, and Sharon Meister; as well as student
Commissioners Dana Bjorge, Lindsay Jacobs, Michelle Hansmann, Camryon Monzo, Laura Mi
Cnkoff, and
Karin Beck; and
WHEREAS, August 2018 marks the 15 year anniversary of the Parks and Trails Commission and
the City Council wishes to honor the time and dedication of its members.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Corcoran, that the City Council hereby honors the
15 year anniversary of the Parks and Trails Commission.
