A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST FOR METROPOLITAN AGRICULTURAL
PRESERVE DESIGNATION AND INITIATION OF EXPIRATION FOR 49 ACRES OF LAND
OWNED BY JEFF AND KARI VOLLRATH (PID 29-119-23-24-0001) (CITY FILE 20-010)
WHEREAS, Jeff and Kari Vollrath are requesting approval of designation and initiation of
expiration for 49 acres of land in one parcel for property legally described as follows:
The South 3/8 of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township
119, North Range 23, West of the Fifth Principal Meridian. ALSO: The West 213 of the
North 5/8 of the Southeast Quarter (SE 1/4) of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of Section
Twenty-nine (29), Township One Hundred Nineteen (119), North Range Twenty-three
(23), West of the Fifth Principal Meridian. ALSO: The West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 119, North Range 23, West of the Fifth
Principal Meridian, EXCEPT the West 5 acres of the North 61 rods thereof, and EXCEPT
that part of the West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29,
Township 119, Range 23, Hennepin County, Minnesota, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter; thence East along the North line of said West 2/3 of the Northeast
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 216.40 feet to the Northeast corner of the
West 5 acres of the North 61 rods of said West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter; also being the actual point of beginning; thence continuing East along
said
North line, a distance of 323.00 feet; thence South along a line parallel with the West line
of said West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 674.34
feet; thence West along a line parallel with the North line of said West 2/3 of the Northeast
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter to the East line of said West 5 acres of the North 61 rods
of said West 2/3 of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, thence North along
said East line, a distance of 674.34 feet to the point of beginning.

Abstract Property
WHEREAS, the above described parcel is located outside of the Metropolitan Urban Service
Area (MUSA);
WHEREAS, the owner of the described parcel has made official application for their designation
as an agricultural preserve; and
WHEREAS, the requirements regarding size, covenants, development density and other
stipulations of the act are deemed legally satisfied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that the property is hereby designated as Agricultural Preserve.
FURTHERMORE, the owners have submitted notice of withdrawal, which would remove the
property from Agricultural Preserve in 8 years;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the property be classified as "Agricultural Preserve" in the 2040
Future Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan and the related zoning district, which will
create more stringent zoning for the duration of the requested designation. No subdivisions can
occur unless and until said properties are removed from the Ag Preserve Program.
