DEDICATING FUNDS TO THE DAYTON PARKWAY INTERCHANGE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Dayton Parkway Interchange project (formerly Brockton Interchange project) is
intended to provide an additional access to 1-94 just north of Corcoran in the City of Dayton; and
WHEREAS, corridor studies, location studies, and interchange design has been completed, and
final plans are near completion; and
WHEREAS, the proposed schedule is to complete the interchange project by end of year 2021;
and
WHEREAS, the cost of the project is estimated at more than $28 million of which $26 million
has been secured; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dayton has requested that the City of Corcoran contribute $250,000
towards the finance gap for the project and to show regional support for the project; and
WHEREAS, benefits of the interchange to the City of Corcoran include support for commercial
and industrial economic development, better traffic distribution, and increased transportation
capacity for future growth; and
WHEREAS, the Corcoran City Council has previously showed support for the project in the
2030 Comprehensive Plan, draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan, and past five years of adopted
legislative priorities; and
WHEREAS, the Corcoran City Council has discussed this request at the November 8, 2018,
November 19, 2018, and January 10, 2019 City Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, the Corcoran City Council has found that the investment of $250,000 is appropriate
due to the benefits as stated in this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that the City of Corcoran hereby dedicates $250,000 to the Dayton
Parkway Interchange Project subject to the following conditions:
1. The project receives full funding and is constructed to substantial completion.
2. Corcoran receives notice of substantial completion from the City of Dayton or their
designee.
3. Payment will be made to the City of Dayton or their designee from a fund of Corcoran's
choosing upon notice of substantial completion.
