A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
TEXT OF TITLE X OF THE CORCORAN CITY CODE RELATED TO EVENT CENTERS (CITY
FILE 18-020 & 18-024)
WHEREAS, the applicants (James Shoulak and Marie Lindblad) requested an ordinance
amendment to update the City Code to allow event centers in the UR and RR districts; and
WHEREAS, the amendment would be consistent with the 2030 Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the amendment would be consistent with other City Code standards and City
policies; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed text amendments at a duly
called Public Hearing and recommends approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the Event Center
Ordinance text amendment based upon the following findings:
1. The proposed amendment would be consistent with State law and the City's
Comprehensive Plan, and compatible with other provisions of the City Code.
2. The amendment would amend the ordinance to allow Event Centers as an interim use in
the Urban Reserve District (UR) and Rural Residential District (RR).
3. The amendment would establish standards to ensure appropriate transitions between
the event center and adjacent residential areas.
