HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2018-22 Property Tax AbatementCity of Corcoran County of Hennepin State of Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 2018-22 RESOLUTION CALLING PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT March 8, 2018 BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of Corcoran, Hennepin County, Minnesota (the "City"), as follows: Section 1. Recitals. 1.01. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.1812 through 469.1815,, as amended (the "Act"), the City may grant an abatement of all or a part of the taxes levied by the City on real property within its boundaries (the "Abatement") and issue general obligation bonds to finance the acquisition of public facilities (the "Abatement Bonds"); provided, however, that the City Council first holds a public hearing regarding the proposed Abatement. 1.02. The City proposes to issue Abatement Bonds in connection with the acquisition of land for a new park serving City residents. Section 2. Hearing Scheduled 2.01. In accordance with the Act, the City Council hereby calls for a public hearing on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at or after 6:30 PM, to consider the proposed Abatement for the purposes described herein. The City Administrator is authorized and directed to publish a notice of public hearing in substantially the form set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto in the official newspaper of the City more than 10 but less than 3 0 days before the date of the public hearing. 2.02. City staff and consultants are authorized to take all other actions needed to bring the proposed Abatement and issuance of the Abatement Bonds before the City Council.
