APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR DANIEL BENJAMIN
(RED BARN PET RETREAT) AT 19520 STIEG ROAD. (PID 01- 119 -23 -31 -0002) (CITY FILE
17-028)
WHEREAS, the landowner has requested approval of an amendment to an interim use permit
for a commercial kennel at property legally described as follows:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter lying northerly of Stieg
Road, Section 01, Township 119, Range 23, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the amendment to the interim use permit and recommends
approval, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request for an interim
use permit amendment, subject to the following findings and conditions:
1. The Conditional Home Occupation License/Interim Use Permit Amendment to the
commercial kennel for dogs and cats at 19520 Stieg Road is approved in accordance
with the site plan dated August 28, 2017 and the revised narrative dated September 7,
2017, except as amended by this resolution.
2. The Conditional Home Occupation License/interim Use Permit approved by Resolution
2016-72 shall remain and all conditions of approval shall remain, except as otherwise
approved by this resolution.
3. The revised site plan dated August 28, 2017 to expand the existing fenced pet play area,
to add a second fenced pet play area and to move kennels into Building 3 in addition to
Buildings 1 and 2 is hereby approved.
4. No changes to the number of pets, number of employees, hours of operation or any
other standards are approved or implied.
5. A building permit must be obtained and a final inspection completed by the City prior to
beginning construction on Building 3 as shown on the site plan.
6. Prior to construction of the additional fence areas, the applicant must:
a. Submit fence details for the fence that will enclose the dog play area for review
and approval by the City.
