Parks and Trails Commission Meeting Minutes
October 18, 2016 - 7:00pm
The Corcoran Parks and Trails Commission met on October 18, 2016, at City Hall in Corcoran, MN.
Present were, Commissioners - Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Strehler, and Student
Commissioner Beck. Commissioner Robran arrived at 7:15 pm.
Also present was City Administrator Martens.
1. Call to Order / Roll Call
Chairperson Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
Chairperson Anderson invited all in attendance to rise and join in the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Agenda Approval
a. Agenda
Motion: Made by Nybo, seconded by Meister, to approve the agenda as presented.
Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, and Strehler
(Motion carried 6:0)
4. Minutes
a. Minutes – July 19, 2016
Motion: Made by Nybo, seconded by Krueger, to approve the minutes as presented.
Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, and Strehler

b. Minutes – September 20, 2016
Motion: Made by Meister, seconded by Krueger, to approve the minutes as presented.

7. Old/Unfinished Business
a. Memorial Garden Donation
City Administrator Martens presented the proposed Memorial Garden bench donations.
Commissioners discussed the proposed location as well as bench materials.
Motion: Made by Krueger, seconded by Meister, to approve the bench donation contingent upon
staff approval the artwork in advance of the placement.
Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, and Strehler
(Motion carried 6:0)
8. New Business
a. Park Design Proposals
City Administrator Martens presented the proposals for design work for the neighborhood park in
Ravinia. Commissioners discussed the cost of each phase, the need to use a landscape architect to
complete the work, and the proposed work to take place.
Motion: Made by Krueger, seconded by Meister, to recommend approval of the Wenck Associates
proposal and to move forward with phase one of the proposal.
Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Robran, and Strehler
(Motion carried 7:0)
CITY OF CORCORAN
b. Hennepin County Youth Baseball and Softball Grant
City Administrator Martens informed the Commission of an upcoming deadline to apply for the
grant. Commissioners discussed possible items to apply for including a mower, utility vehicle, and
improvements to Meister Field. By consensus the Commission directed staff to apply for
improvements to Meister Field for fencing and a replacement drinking fountain.

a. Active Planning Applications – Informational only, no action taken
10. Subcommittee and Miscellaneous Reports
a. City Council Report
City Administrator Martens answered questions from the Commission on City Council actions.
b. Garden Club Report
Chair Anderson provided an update on Garden Club activities and stated the group will be
collecting prairie seeds at Crow-Hassan Park Reserve on Saturday, October 22nd.
c. Park Dedication Fund – Informational only
11. Other Business/Announcements
Chair Anderson reminded the Commission of the upcoming candidate forum on Thursday.
Commissioner Liaison Calendar
Commissioners reviewed the calendar. Commissioner Regan stated she may not be able to attend
the December 8th meeting.

Motion: Made by Robran, seconded by Krueger, to adjourn the meeting at 8:16 pm.
