HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-01-20 Parks and Trails MinutesCity of Corcoran Corcoran Parks and Trails Commission Minutes January 20, 2015 - 7:00 PM The Corcoran Parks and Trails Commission met on January 20, 2015, at City Hall in Corcoran, Minnesota. Present were, Commissioners - Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Strehler, and Tessmer. Dale arrived at 7:10 and Robran arrived at 8:05. (No members absent) Also present were City Administrator Martens, Administrative Support /Payroll and Benefits Coordinator Smith - Arens, and Council Liaison Mayor Ken Guenthner Commissioner Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm 1. Call to Order / Roll Call 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Chairperson and Vice - Chairperson Election Motion: made by Tessmer, seconded by Nybo to nominate Tom Anderson for Chairperson Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Strehler, Tessmer, (Motion carried 7:0) Motion: made by Tessmer, seconded by Meister to nominate Trish Krueger for Vice Chairperson Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Strehler, Tessmer, (Motion carried 7:0) 4. Agenda Approval a. Agenda - Added Item to new Business 9.d Motion: made by Meister, seconded by Nybo to approve the Agenda as presented. Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Strehler, Tessmer, (Motion carried 7:0) b. Minutes 11 -18 -2014 Motion: made by Krueger, seconded by Tessmer to approve the Minutes as amended with a change to item 3b - the word from Agenda to Minutes Voting Aye: Anderson, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Tessmer, (Motion carried 6:0) Abstaining: Strehler 5. Open Forum - None 6. Presentations - none 7. Reports /Information a. Active Planning Applications - City Administrator updated commissioners b. Parks and Trails Commission Term Update — City Administrator discussed with the commissioners whose terms expire. 8. Old /Unfinished Business - None 9. New Business a. Proposed Ordinance Update — Parks and Trails Commission Motion: made by Krueger, seconded by Dale to stay with the 9 commission members and accept other recommendations as written. Voting Aye: Dale, Krueger, Meister, Nybo, Regan, Robran, Strehler, Tessmer, Voting Nay: Anderson (Motion carried 8:1) b. Council Correspondence — Annual Report and 2015 Priorities Discussion to move forward with the Tree Giveaway, Start a Corcoran Garden Cub, Scoreboard Grant funds — Twins Grant. Additionally to be put on future agenda items the Roehlke property, City of Corcoran Corcoran Parks and Trails Commission Minutes January 20, 2015 - 7:00 PM Fees for Parks Development, Update formula for Parks, Park Standards, Look for Additional Grants, Review Park Usage Fees c. Parks and Trails Commission Activities — Discussed which trees would be purchased for the Tree Giveaway Program, location and requesting donations from the NWJC's d. Memorial Garden Donations — Discussed what some of the donations of funds could be spend on, examples were bird feeders and bird baths. 10. Subcommittee & Miscellaneous Reports a. City Council Report — Mayor Guenthner updated b. Athletic Association — Informational Only c. Park Dedication Fund — Informational only 11. Other Business- none 12. Announcements - none 13.
