RESOLUTION 2013 -63

APPROVING THE REORGANIZATION OF THE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran, Minnesota (the "City ") has the authority to
hire, fire, promote, demote and transfer all employees of the City and to establish the
organizational structure of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the organizational structure of the
Administration Department and recommends changes to improve the overall service
and efficiency of the City; and
WHEREAS, the proposed reorganization is intended solely to improve the
efficiency of the department and services to the public and is not due to any deficient
performance by employees holding the current positions; and
WHEREAS, the impacted employees have been provided verbal notice of the
proposed reorganization and informed that the action is not due to any deficient
performance on their part; and
WHEREAS, staff has updated the relevant job descriptions for the proposed
reorganization which are attached to this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the
following:
1. The above - referenced recitals are incorporated herein to this Resolution;
2. Effective January 1, 2014 Mike Pritchard, Code Compliance Official shall move to
the Year 1 Step of Grade 8, future Step increases shall take place on the
anniversary of that date if approved by the City;
3. Effective January 1, 2014 Jill Smith- Arens, Office Manager /Assistant to the
Administrator shall be changed to Administrative Support/Payroll and Benefits
Coordinator and move to Grade 8, Jill Smith -Arens wage shall be $28.58 per
hour or the 5 Years Step of Grade 8, whichever is higher;
4. For the purposes of leave accrual under the Employee Handbook Mr. Pritchard
and Ms. Smith -Arens respective anniversary dates shall continue to be the dates
that they were originally hired by the City.

5. The City approves the revised Job Descriptions for City Administrator, City Clerk,
Code Compliance Official, and Administrative SupporUPayroli and Benefits
Coordinator.
