A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE
CORCORAN, MN 2009 -2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran (hereinafter "City ") is a municipal corporation
organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act was amended in 1995 to require
decennial review of local plans to ensure that local controls are consistent with local
comprehensive plans, and to ensure that local plans respond to recent changes in
regional plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a Comprehensive Plan is
necessary in order that a plan reflects current conditions, circumstances, community
character statements, policies and strategies for the period 2009 -2030, as well as to
comply with statutory requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan update process has included public
meetings; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran considered the draft Comprehensive Plan and
directed that the draft plan be submitted to the Metropolitan Council prior to May 15,
2009; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council on May 15, 2009 reviewed the draft
Comprehensive Plan. The plan was found to be in conformance with the regional
system plans and compatible with the Plans of adjacent jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, minor modifications were requested in the Wastewater and Land
Use elements of the Plan; and
WHEREAS, city staff made the requested minor modifications and presented the
Comprehensive Plan to the City Council for review; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing at their November 5, 2009
Council meeting to accept public comments on the final Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the final Comprehensive Plan was submitted to the Metropolitan
Council for their review on December 11, 2009; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council gave their approval of the final 2009 -2030
Comprehensive Plan as submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Corcoran, Minnesota, that the City of Corcoran 2030 Comprehensive Plan is hereby
adopted and put into effect
PASSED at a regular meeting of the Corcoran City Council this 23rd day of June,
2011.
