EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM ON DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF
CORCORAN TO INCLUDE NURSERIES AND GREENHOUSES
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran has identified the need to amend the current
Zoning Ordinance as it relates to the development of greenhouses and nurseries
in R-1 (Rural Residential) and A-1 (Agriculture Preserve) areas of the City.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a moratorium on July 24, 2003 and the
moratorium was set to expire in 60 days or when the Zoning Ordinance was amended
to address this issue, whichever was sooner.
WHEREAS, the City Council has not yet completed its review of this issue and has not
yet adopted new ordinance regulations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does extend the
moratorium on the issuance of building permits for the development of nurseries or
greenhouses within the R-1 (Rural Residential) or A-1 (Agricultural Preserve) areas of
the City. The moratorium shall be extended an additional 90 days or until the ordinance
is amended as indicated above, whichever is sooner.
ADOPTED by the City Council this 11th day of September 2003.
