RESOLUTION NO. 2003-30

WHEREAS, due to various factors including road improvements currently under construction along
County Road 101 the City of Corcoran has noticed a substantial increase in traffic along County Road
116; and
WHEREAS, this increased traffic has generated concerns for the safety and welfare of those traveling
this route.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Corcoran does hereby request that Hennepin
County expeditiously pursue having a traffic study performed regarding the speed designation on
County Road 116 from Hackamore to Meister Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Corcoran and the County of Hennepin will review
local and county road intersection controls based on projected traffic volumes during anticipated
detour events, consider signage to diminish illegal and conflicting movements of traffic, consider
changing the passing zone to a no passing zone, review for site obstructions and relocate as necessary,
take traffic counts on 75th Avenue to review impact from detour, and request additional commitment
from Hennepin County Sheriff to coordinate traffic enforcement with the City's Police Department.
