CITY COUNCIL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES WORKSHOP
April 27, 2006
.e Corcoran City Council met on April 27, 2006, at city hall in Corcoran, Minnesota. Present were Call to Order
Mayor Cossette, Councilor Grabowski (arrived 6:04 p.m.), Councilor Jacobs, Councilor Lymangood,
and Councilor Thomas. Also present were Administrator Vergin, Police Chief Schulte, and Clerk Roll Call
Lindberg. Mayor Cossette called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Simplify Codes
All council members should keep a list of non - emergency code changes to be addressed at the end of the
year.
Review Fire Protection
Chief Schutte reported on the April 19th meeting of the four fire protection service providers for the City
of Corcoran. Mayor Cossette and Councilor Lymangood will attend the May 18`h meeting.
Review Fire Service Contracts
It was suggested the fire protection contracts should be standardized. Cossette will contact Loretto to
discuss the contract.
Business Friendly Incentives
Thomas reported on the meeting held at City Hall with Joanne Foust of Municipal Development Group,
Inc. Foust will have a report to the City regarding business incentives within a week and another
meeting will be scheduled.

There was no discussion of this item.
Transfer Wastewater Responsibilities to County
This item was on the regular meeting's agenda and would be discussed at that time.
Existing Business Promotion
Cossette will organize a coalition with the downtown business owners to address concerns.
SE /SW Sewer/Water
Staff reported the County Road 101 easements and the joint powers agreement with Medina are
proceeding very well.
Form Independent EDA
The Council will wait on the formation of an independent Economic Development Authority until the
newly formed Long Term Capital Projects Group reports on the goals for the City.
Create Long -Term Capital Projects Group
The first meeting of this group is scheduled for May 4, 2006.
MOTION by Lymangood to delete "Form Independent EDA" from the Goals and Objectives list. There
being no second, discussion continued.

Staff was directed to work on this goal as time allowed.

Lymangood suggested the City's fire codes be reassessed.

MOTION by Jacobs, seconded by Thomas, to adjourn the meeting at 6:58 p.m. Voting Aye: Grabowski,
Jacobs, Cossette, Lymangood, and Thomas. (Motion carried 5:0)
