RESOLUTION NO. 2004— 13
MOTION BY MEMBER:LYMANGOOD
SECONDED BY MEMBER: THOMAS
A RESOLUTION SEEKING REVIEW OF CURRENT MNDOT POLICY
REGARDING SPEED LIMITS WITHIN DETOUR AREAS
WHEREAS, current MNDOT policy allows for the temporary reduction of posted speed limits in
construction areas only; and
WHEREAS, no provision is made within the policy to allow temporary reduction of posted speed
limits in areas that are identified as detour areas;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORCORAN, MN is
hereby requesting that MNDOT re-examine its policies relating to traffic and speed control in detoured
areas;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Corcoran is seeking support for such a review from
surrounding cities, as well as Local and State Legislators.
