RESOLUTION 2000-42
A RESOLUTION FORWARDING AVIATION/AIRPORTS AND PARKS/TRAILS
SECTIONS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO THE METROPOLITAN
COUNCIL FOR THEIR REVIEW AND REQESTING AN EXTENSION FOR
SUBMITTAL OF THE ENTIRE DOCUMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran began working on a comprehensive plan in
1997; and
WHEREAS, because of staff changes and budget constraints the comprehensive
plan is not complete; and
WHEREAS, with this resolution the City forwards two required chapters,
Aviation/Airports and Parks/Trails, for Metropolitan Council review; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to cooperate with the Northwest Hennepin County
Land Use Study; and
WHEREAS, the City is intent on incorporating smart growth strategies into the
Comprehensive Plan that are consistent with the regional growth strategies.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Corcoran hereby submits Aviation/Airports and Parks/Trails Sections of the
Comprehensive Plan for Metropolitan Council review AND hereby requests an
extension to complete the balance of the Comprehensive Plan by June 30, 2001.
Moved by Councilor John Bucher, seconded by Councilor Ron Thomas.
The following voted in favor of said resolution: Guenthner, Thomas and Bucher.
The following voted against the same: None.
The following were absent: Lindsley and Gmach.
Whereupon said Resolution was declared carried.
