HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2000-31 - Setting Fees and Alcohol Regulation - Civic Center Rental City of Corcoran County of Hennepin State of Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 2000-31 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING RULES & REGULATIONS GOVERNING ALCOHOL & SETTING FEES FOR CIVIC CENTER RENTALS WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran(city)has adopted an ordinance authorizing all city fees to be set by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran rents the civic center for various community celebrations and events; and WHEREAS, those persons renting the civic center have requested permission to serve alcohol at events such as wedding receptions; and WHEREAS, the City's Insurance Agent has reviewed the issue of liability relating to alcohol being served by renters of the civic center and recommended that the renter be required to hire a licensed vendor, with the City of Corcoran named on the vendors general liability policy as an additional insured, for the day of the event. In addition the vendor should provide a certificate of insurance with evidence of coverage that equal or exceeds state dram shop requirements. NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Corcoran, City Council that alcohol shall be permitted in the civic center upon the following conditions: 1. Renter must hire a licensed vender to dispense alcohol (i.e. bartender/caterer). 2. Vendor must provide a certificate of dram shop insurance with evidence of coverage in the amount of$300,000 per individual and $600,000 per event. 3. Vendor shall name the City of Corcoran on their general liability policy not on their liquor liability policy. 4. RenterNendor must secure a Temporary Liquor License. 5. Renter hires a Corcoran Officer, under the event security fee schedule, for the entire time of the event. The renter shall contract in advance for a set amount of time. The time shall be extended at the sole option of the officer hired for the event. Rental Fee $400 Per Day Damage Deposit $200 Per Day (Renter responsible for any costs above this amount attributable to the event.) Other charges sets by separate council action include but are not limited to: Temporary Liquor License, Event Security, Setup, and Janitorial Services. Moved by member Bucher, Seconded by member Gmach. The following voted in favor of said resolution: Bucher, Gmach, and Thomas The following voted against the same: None Absent: Lindsley and Guenthner. Whereupon said Resolution was declared carried.
