HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2000-28 - CUP - Accessory Structure Home Occupation - Yap RESOLUTION 2000-28 A RESOLUTION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW A HOME OCCUPATION IN AN ACCESSORY STRUCTURE,ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6645 COUNTY ROAD 19. WHEREAS, Michael and Pamela Yap, buyers of the property located at 6645 County Road 19, City of Corcoran, have requested permission to operate a home occupation in an accessory structure with 2-3 employees; and WHEREAS, The Corcoran Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 4, 2000 and questions raised by citizens included; number of employees allowed, traffic concerns on County Road 19, adequacy of the septic system and how is it regulated; and WHEREAS, Based on concerns regarding the appropriateness of employees in a home occupation, the Corcoran Planning Commission recommended denial of the application; and WHEREAS, The Corcoran City Council considered the public testimony and the recommendation of the Planning Commission in making a decision. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Corcoran finds the following: FINDINGS OF FACT 1. The applicants own and operate a computer company that currently operates as a home occupation in a different community. 2. The applicants have a purchase agreement on property located in Corcoran and they wish to operate a home occupation in an accessory structure with 2-3 outside employees. 3. The property located at 6645 County Road 19 has an existing accessory structure 1180 square feet in size with an upholstery business in it. Based on the above findings, the Corcoran City Council hereby issues a Conditional Use Permit to allow a home occupation in an accessory structure, located at 6645 County Road 19, City of Corcoran; PID # 31-119-23-24-0007 and legally described as Lot 3, Block 1, Sugar Maple Farm, all in Section 31, Township 119, Range 23, Hennepin County,Minnesota; subject to the following conditions: 1. Any improvements to the accessory structure shall conform to building code regulations. 2. No outside storage related to the business shall be allowed on the site. 3. No more than 3 outside employees may work from the site. Moved by Councilor George Gmach, seconded by Councilor Dixie Lindsley. The following voted in favor of said resolution: Guenthner, Gmach, Lindsley The following voted against the same: Bucher The following was absent: Thomas Whereupon said Resolution was declared carried.
