RESOLUTION SPONSORING THE NORTHWEST TRAILS ASSOCIATION TO ACQUIRE
STATE OF MINNESOTA DNR FUNDING (2013 -2014 SEASON)
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran desires to establish a public snowmobile trail in furtherance of
its public recreation program; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Trails Association has asked the City of Corcoran to act as a sponsor
to help acquire, construct, and maintain its trails; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Trails Association has indicated it will help and assist the City to
acquire, construct, and maintain said trail; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota offers financial and technical assistance to the City for the
construction of an approved trail; that the trail sponsored by Corcoran would be known as the
Snowmobile Trails of Northwest Hennepin County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REOLVED BY THE CITY OF CORCORAN:
1. The City of Corcoran shall apply to the State of Minnesota, through the Department of Natural
Resources, for financial and technical assistance in accordance with the laws, rules and
regulations governing said assistance.
2. If said assistance is granted, the City of Corcoran shall contract with the Northwest Trails
Association for the acquisition of the necessary interests in land and the subsequent
construction and maintenance of the trail.
3. With the exception of the financial assistance provided by the State contract with the City, the
City of Corcoran shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the club. The City shall be
responsible only for the allocation of funds to the extent of the actual monies provided through
the State contract.
