It is, however, possible that you may hear gunshots in the distance when you’re outside. Because hunting is permissible in most areas of the City of Corcoran, we have citizens who hunt or allow others to hunt on their property. Please remember that in addition to using common sense when in the field, hunters must also be familiar with all State game regulations and our City firearm ordinance. You can get a copy of these ordinances and regulations at City Hall. The City’s firearm ordinance is also available on our website. We ask that hunters respect others and their property while hunting. Everyone has the right to enjoy the outdoors safely. We are very excited about moving in to our expanded headquarters in mid-November. The updated facility provides more efficient use of space for our department and also accommodates the North ambulance team and Hennepin County deputies. The area housing the ambulance team and the deputy sheriff have been reinforced to double as a storm shelter. A dual use training room and Emergency Operating Center (EOC) was added that will greatly improve on-going training results and provide an effective operations center should we have to deal with any disaster situations. We are planning an open house in the spring of 2005; however, we welcome anyone who would like a tour of your new Police Department Headquarters before then. -- Chief Paul H.
