Month of May 2026
Planning Commission Update
Parks and Trails Commission Update
At the May 7, 2026, Planning Commission Meeting:
Commissioner Kozicky was elected Vice-Chair of the Planning Commission (5-0).
New Business Included:
Vogt Site Plan (City File 26-007): Samuel Vogt, the applicant, requested approval of a site plan to allow a 40% reduction in the front
yard setback. Property owners may request a reduction in the required front yard setback through increased landscaping. The
Commission recommended approval (5-0) and was referred to City Council.
At the May 21, 2026, Parks and Trails Commission Meeting:
New Business Included:
“Springs at Corcoran” Preliminary Plat, Preliminary Planned Unit Development, and Rezoning (City File 26-001): Staff recommendedthe Parks and Trail Commission move to recommend approval of acceptance of a combination of off-road trail easement and cash-in-lieu of land to satisfy park dedication requirements. The Commission recommended approval (4-0) and was referred to CityCouncil.
Linear Park Plan - "Saint Therese of Corcoran" Phase Two at 19800 79th Place (City File 25-043): The Commission provided feedback
on the proposed linear park improvements as part of the Saint Therese Phase Two project. The Commission gave direction on the
concrete pads, plantings, placement of the trails, and overall design aspects of the proposed park improvements. The Commission
recommended approval (4-0) and was referred to City Council.
Unfinished Business Included:
Further discussion on Park Prioritization and Planning. The Commission provided additional feedback on prioritization as city staff
works with HKGi through the park planning process.

City Council Update
At the May 14, 2026, City Council Work Session Meeting:
In recognition of National Public Works Week, staff had the opportunity to highlight the depth and breadth of the City of Corcoran’s
Public Works Department, including its three primary divisions: Operations, Utilities, and Engineering. The purpose of this
presentation was to increase awareness and understanding of the critical services provided by the Public Works Department, while
also identifying future operational needs, infrastructure demands, and strategic planning considerations that support the continued

At the May 14, 2026, City Council Meeting:
The City Council approved the following consent items: adopted Resolution 2026-38 approving the renewal of liquor licenses withinthe City of Corcoran for the following establishments: Stanchion Bar, Inc., Mama G’s Operations LLC, Pheasant Acres Golf Club,
Shamrock Golf Operations LLC, and Saint Therese of Corcoran, LLC. Adopted Resolution 2026-39 approving the renewal of tobaccolicenses within the City of Corcoran for the following establishments: Corcoran Crossroads Market, Mama G’s, and The Original Tom
Thumb. Adopted Resolution 2026-41 appointing Nalisha Williams, Assistant City Administrator, as Acting City Administrator duringany period of absence or unavailability of the City Administrator throughout the year 2026. The following designees were or are
designated as Acting City Administrator during anticipated periods of absence or unavailability of both the City Administrator andAssistant City Administrator: Matt Gsellmeier, Finance Director, for the period of May 21-24, 2026, and Natalie Davis, Community
Development Director, for the period of July 15-19, 2026. Authorized a waiver for amplified sound until 12 a.m. at Corcoran LionsPark for the Corcoran Lions on the following dates: May 30, 2026 (Tractor Pull), August 29, 2026 (NTPA Tractor Pull), and September
12, 2026 (Demo Derby).
In Planning Business: Mary Bujold, of Maxfield Research & Consulting, gave an Economic Development Strategy presentation for the
City of Corcoran.
In New Business: the Mayor and Councilmembers discussed the Open Meeting law with legal guidance from the City Attorney in
order to more clearly understand the law as well as learn how to avoid serial meetings, which would be in violation of the OpenMeeting law.
At the May 28, 2026, City Council Meeting:The City Council approved the following consent items: adopted Resolution 2026-44 establishing an Absentee Ballot Board and
approved an 18-day period for in-person voting for the 2026 Election Cycle. Legislation was passed on May 15, 2026, and signed byGovernor Walz on May 18, 2026, allowing municipalities to choose a shorter in-person early voting period, permitting cities to
conduct either 18 days of in-person early voting or the full 46 days of in-person absentee voting. Adopted Resolution 2026-43approving the temporary on-sale liquor license to Hamel Rodeo, Inc for the Hamel Rodeo taking place July 9-12, 2026. Approved a
conditional acceptance of public improvements for Ravinia 1 and 5 additions.st th
In Planning Business: with Planning Commission and staffrecommendation, City Council approved the preliminaryplat for “Kariniemi Orchards”, with conditions outlined inthe report from the May 28, 2026, City Council MeetingAgenda Packet.
