HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2011-62 - Approving 2012 Personnel Benefits and ChangesCity of Corcoran County of Hennepin State of Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -62 Motion By: 6 rn ACO Seconded By: M l L,6AA SV j) J December 19,20H A RESOLUTION APPROVING 2012 STEP /WAGE SCALE AND BENEFIT PACKAGE FOR, UNION, EXEMPT AND NON EXEMPT CITY EMPLOYEES; APPROVING WAGE FOR CITY ADMINISTRATOR, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY, AND PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT; APPROVING APPOINTMENT TO PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE POSITION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corcoran, Minnesota do ted the 2012 General Fund Budget and the 2012 Property Tax levy on December 19, 2011, Minnesota, °G'1to Stablish the following for 2012 regarding personnel matters, wages and benefits, and appointments to city staff, and does hereby find as follows, Effective January 1, 2012, all Full Time employees of the city including union, non exempt and exempt positions shall receive a 2% COLA adjustment in wages and /or salary. The Health / Insurance benefit package contributions by the city shall remain the same as that provided in 2011. The Teamsters Local 320, representing the Full Time police officers of the city, had previously agreed to accept the wage and benefit package if identical to all other Full Time city employees for 2011 and 2012. • Seasonal employees of the city shall receive a 2% adjustment in wages. • Effective January 1, 2012, the City Administrator Remain as an Exempt Employee at a Grade level 19 and advances from Step 4 years to 5 years of the 2012 Pay Scale • The City Administrator was given a bank of 120 hours of PTO time at hire on April 27, 2009 with the stipulation that it be returned to the city in the future. As of December 31, 2011, the City Administrator's balance of accumulated PTO hours is reduced 40 hours and the remaining PTO hours owed, to the city by the City Administrator will stand at 80 hours. • Effective January 1, 2012, the Director of Public Safety Remain as an Exempt Employee at Grade level 19, Step 5 years of the 2012 Pay Scale • Effective January 1, 2012, the Public Works Superintendent Remains as a Non- Exempt Employee Grade level 13, Step 5 year of the 2012 Pay Scale • Effective December 30, 2011, Scott Elsenpeter is appointed to the Position of Public Works Maintenance /Equipment Operator, as a non - exempt employee at Grade level 7, midway between steps 3 and 4 at a starting hourly wage of $23.15 /hour of the 2009 Pay Scale. With satisfactory performance in 6 months he will stay at Step 3 years with an increase of the 2012 Pay scale. The position shall receive the same Health / Insurance benefit package given to all other city hull Time Employees. The substantive changes include the wage and benefit package as outlined above and an increase in clothing allowance from $750 to $775. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Corcoran City Council. authorizes the above mentioned adjustments to the city's personnel plan, compensation structure, and union agreement.
