AN ORDINANC� AMENDING TITLE II1 (ADMINISTRATIQN) QF THE CITY CO�E TO
MO�1FY THE COMP�SITION OF THE PARKS AND TRAILS COMMlSSfON (SECTION
36.11}.

Sectian 1. Amendment of #he City Cade. Title I11 of the City Code of the Ci#y af
Corcoran, Minnesota, is her�by amencfed as fallaws, based on the findings in Resolution
2008-13:
36.'[1 COMPOSITION.
Th� Parks and Trails Corr�mission sl�all cpns�s# af nine (9} regular members, three (3)
alternate rnembers and student members that shalf be appointed in tl�e manner set�orth
in this subsectior�. In addition, ane (1) City Council member shall act as a liaisar� to the
Commission. The liaison shal[ attend me�tings of the Parks and Trails Comrnission and
act as a mode of cor�munication between the Parks and Trails Commissior� and the City
Cauncil. The Liaison shali ha�e no vate on the Commission.
A. All members sl�all be a�pointed by tl�e City Council and may be remo�ed by a thres-
fi#ths (315) �ota of the Council.
B. Regular Merr�bers — Mer��ers af the Commissian are appointed by the City Cauncil
for staggered three-year terrr�s. Of the Parks and Trails commi�sioners first
appointed, three shalE be appainted for a one year term, fhree shall be appoin#ed for
a two y�ar term, and three shall b� appoir�fied for a thre� year term. Successors shall
be appoinied for terrns of three years, Appoin�ees shall hold �heir offices until their
successars are appointed and qualified. The City Council shall approve the
n�cessary appointments to th� Comrriission na later than March 31 of each year.
Before entering upon the discharge o# his or her duties, e�ery appointed r�ember
shali tak� an oath that he ar she shali faithfully discharge the duties of his or h�r
office. All merribers shall ser�e withou# compensatian.
C. AEternat�: Merrjbers — Shalf b� annually appointed. All members shall serve without
cornpensa#ion.
D. S#udent Members — 5hall be appointed afi the pl�asure a�fh� council. Stud�nt
members shaH ha�e no voting or office responsibilEty. All mem�ers shall serve
withaut compensatian.
E. The city council may appoir�t a non-residen# �o any of the city cor�missio�s so lor�g
as there is no mare than one (�) nan-resident on a commissian at any time and
pra�ided that#he individual's nort-r�sidence status is det�rmined to be temporary.

F. A quorum shall consist of any cornbination of f'r�e (5} reg�lar and/or alternate
members, The City Council [iaison and student rr3em�ers shafl not count towards a
q�orum of the rnemb�rs.
Section 2. This amendment shalf take effect upon passage and publica#ion.
