RESOLUTION NO. 2007-12

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING LEGAL COUNSEL
WHEREAS,THE City Council passed a resolution on January 11, 2007,to issue a
Request for Proposals for legal services; and
WHEREAS,the Council appointed attorney Frank Kundrat as special counsel on
January 11, 2007,to assist with pending issues; and
WHEREAS,Mr. Kundrat has been appointed as a judge in the Seventh Judicial District
and cannot serve as special counsei past February 15, 2007, and
WHEREAS,no Request for Proposal has been issued and the Council desires new legal
counsel to be retained immediately to provide legal services;
NOW,THEREFORE,the Corcoran City Council RESOLVES as follows:
1. The law firm of Ratwik, Roszak& Maloney, P.A. is hereby appointed as
temporary City Attorney pending the outcome of a RFP process for representation
on all civil matters effective immediately. 'The primary contact for the City is
attorney Joseph Langel.
2. Jeffery A. Carson shall remain the Interim City attorney for criminal prosecutorial
work.
3. All non-criminal City files in the possession of Jeffrey A. Carson and his firm,
Carson, Clelland& Schreder, are to be made available or transferred to Ratwik,
Roszak&Maloney, P.A. as soon as reasonably possible.
