HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2006-66 NOT ADOPTED r ^ CITY OF CORCORAN RESOLUTION 2006-66 DENYING REQUEST FOR A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT FOR HOPE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL AND CORCORAN INVESTMENTS LLC WHEREAS, Hope Ministries International and Corcoran Investments LLC has requested approvai of a zoning ordinance text amendment to allow premature subdivision as an interim use permit in Agriculture (A) zoning district. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the requested text amendment at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends denial, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORCORAN, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does deny the request by Hope Ministries International and Corcoran Investments LLC for a zoning ordinance text amendment to allow an exemptions from the City's premature subdivision ordinance by interim use permit in the Agriculture zoning district, based on the finding that all of the ordinance standards have not been met. Specifically: a) The proposed action has been considered in relation to the specific policies and provisions of and has been found to be inconsistent with the City Comprehensive Plan, including public facilities and capital improvement plans. b) The proposed action does not meet the purpose and intent of this Ordinance, nor does it meet the purpose and intent of the Agriculture zoning district. c) There is not adequate infrastructure available to serve the proposed action. d) Approval of the proposed amendment would be financially unsound as it would hinder the City's ability for budget for future capital outlays and capital improvements. ADOPTED by the City Council this 20th day of November 2006.
