AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR AN

WHEREAS,the Metropolitan Council has$400,000 available for interest-free loans to cities updating
their Comprehensive Plans,as rec�uired by the Metro�olitan Land Planning Act.
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran will begin updating their Comprehensive Plan in 2007 and will invest
an estimated $65,000-80,000 in this u�date �lus additional monies for creation of the Surface Water
Management Plan and Water Supply Plan in the future as supporting docu.ments to the Comprehensive
Plan.
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran anticipates that the Comprehensive Plan update process will begin in
June 2007 with an estimated completion date in September 2008.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORCORAN,IIZINNESOTA,that it should and hereby does authorize City staff to submit a request
to the Metropolitan Council for an interest-free loan in the aznount of $40,000 for completion of the
required Comprehensive Plan update in 2008.
