RESOLUTION 2006-26

A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS
THAT PROTECT AND SERVE THE CITY OF CORCORAN
WHEREAS, a long term planning committee to address fire protection services to the
City of Corcoran has been created; and
WHEREAS,the creation of this committee has resulted in meetings with representatives
of the Hamel, Hanover, Loretto and Rogers Fire Departments, and the Cities of Medina
and Corcoran; and
WHEREAS, this committee will focus on the "Function", on how to plan to provide fire
protection services in an efficient and cost effective manner to meet the needs of the City
today and long term.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Corcoran City Council does hereby
commit its support to the City's four fire service providers, Hamel, Hanover, Loretto and
Rogers, in their mission to provide service to the City and in their assistance in the
planning and implementation of a fire service plan for the City of Corcoran; and
That the City of Corcoran, through its Comprehensive Plan, will plan for future potential
satellite facility locations and land uses to encourage availability of the necessary daytime
fire service personnel, and to provide the desired level of fire service protection; and
That the City of Corcoran, through its Policies, will create incentives to support and
encourage availability of the necessary daytime fire service personnel; and
That the City of Corcoran, through its Ordinances, will strive for a best-case level of fire
service protection to life and property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be presented to the City Council
for reaffirmation by March of each odd-numbered year.
