For more information on options to provide public comment visit: www.corcoranmn.gov Item 2. 1 8200 County Road 116  Corcoran, MN 55340 763-420-2288  www.ci.corcoran.mn.us MEMO Meeting Date: April 14, 2022 To: City Council From: Jessica Beise, Interim City Administrator Re: Code Enforcement Review and Priorities for 2022 ____________________________________________________________________ On January 19, 2022 the City Council met to review and update the City’s mission, vison, values, core strategies, and short-term goals. Council identified code enforcement policies and the impact on staffing and the budget as a short-term goal for 2022. Staff recommended a work session to understand our code enforcement policy and outline our priorities for 2022. Options for Policies Code Enforcement: Proactive – Proactive sweeps for code violations. Hybrid – A middle step where some code enforcement areas are proactive and when staff are made aware of issues bring action forward (i.e. violations that a formal complaint is not made however staff is made aware of the issue). Complaint Based – Only move forward if complaints are received on a property. Once a policy is determined staff would like to understand the priorities. Sign violations and properties with multiple violations are examples of the code enforcement priorities the City has had in the past. Staff would like to understand if the priority code enforcement items.
