RESOLUTION NO. 2009-50

A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE HENNEPIN YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM APPLICATION
WHEREAS, Hennepin County, via its Youths Sports Grant Program, provides for capital funds to assist local
government units of Hennepin County for the development of sport or recreation facilities, and
WHEREAS, the Corcoran City Council desires to develop two Youth T-Ball Fields for the purpose of
providing regional playground space for structured baseball activities for youth 5-8 years old.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE, City Council of the City of Corcoran:
I. The estimate of the total cost of developing the Youth T-Ball Fields shall be $16,000 and The City of
Corcoran is requesting $10,000 from the Hennepin County Legacy Grant program; and the city will
assume responsibility for a match requirement of $6,000 which will come from the combined efforts
of City, the Corcoran athletic Association, and the Corcoran Jaycees,
II. The City of Corcoran agrees to own, assume one hundred (100) percent of operation costs for Youth
T-Ball Fields for its intended purpose for the functional life of the facility, which is estimated to be 50
years.
III. The City of Corcoran agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with Hennepin County
for the specific purpose of constructing a sport or recreational facility and long-term program
direction.
IV. That the City of Corcoran is authorized and directed to execute said application and serve as official
liaison with Hennepin County or its authorized representative.
