A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING TITLE VIII OF THE GENERAL REGULATIONS OF THE CORCORAN
CITY CODE RELATED TO PROPERTY MAINTENANCE.
(CITY FILE 22-046)
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran proposed the creation of a property maintenance code; and
WHEREAS, the City has an interest to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of residents of
Corcoran; and
WHEREAS, the City has an interest in protecting the character of neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the proposed ordinance at a duly called public hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Corcoran, Minnesota,
that it does approve an amendment to add Chapter 87 within Title vlll ((3eneral Regulations) of the
City Code to include a property maintenance code, based on the following findings.
1. The amendments will ensure the safety and welfare of all those who reside in Corcoran.
2. The amendments will preserve the housing stock within the City
3. The amendments will ensure that property owners are held responsible for the
maintenance of properties.
4. The amendments are consistent with State Law, other City Code standards, and City
policies.
