HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2022-83 Establishing an Absentee Ballot Board and Staff Election JudgesCity of Corcoran County of Hennepin State of Minnesota July 7 4, 2022 RESOLUTION NU. 2022-83 Motion By: McKee Seconded By: Bottema RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BOARD AND STAFF ELECTION JUDGES WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran is required by Minnesota Statutes 203B.121, Subd. 1 to establish an Absentee Ballot Board effective July 1, 2022, through November 8, 2022; and WHEREAS, this board will bring uniformity in the processing of accepting or rejecting returned absentee ballots in the City of Corcoran; and WHEREAS, the Absentee Ballot Board would consist of a sufficient number of election judges as provided in sections 204B.19 to 204B.22 or city staff trained in the processing of absentee ballots; WHEREAS, the following Minnesota residents have agreed to serve as election judges and have met the qualifications established by the State of Minnesota, have been trained prior to the elections, and are eligible to serve, Minnesota under 204B.25; and meeting the qualifications established by the State of THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Corcoran City Council hereby establishes an Absentee t5aiiot Board as provided by Minnesota Statures 203B.121. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of the Absentee Ballot Board for the 2022 State Primary and General Elections are hereby named as Michael Pritchard, Jessica Christensen Buck, Maggie Ung, Amelia Fadden, and Jodie Peterson. Whereupon, said Resolution is hereby declared adopted on this '14t'' day of July, 2022.
