HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2022-116 Hennepin County Youth Sports GrantCity of Corcoran County of Hennepin State of Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 2022-110 Motion By: McKee Seconded By: Nichols September 22, 2022 SUPPORTING GRANT APPLICATION — HENNEPIN COUNTY YOUTH SPORTS FACILITY GRANT WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners, via the Hennepin Youth Sports Program, provides for capital funds to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the development of sports or recreational facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran desires to remaster City Park; and WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran supports the grant application made to the Hennepin County Youth Sports Program. The application is to assist with the funding of phase one for the City Park remaster; and WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran recognizes that it must provide the remaining economic resources to fund the project following any grant money received from the Hennepin County Youth Sports Program; and WHEREAS, benefits of the project to the City of Corcoran includes added and updated amenities, additional parking, and usable space for supplementary internal programming; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORCORANI MINNESOTAI The estimate of the total cost of remastering City Park shall be $7,383,526.80. The City of Corcoran is requesting $300,000 from the Hennepin Youth Sports Program and will assume responsibility for providing matching funds of $7,083,526.80. The City of Corcoran is the owner of the property where the City Park is located. The City of Corcoran will own the property where City Park is located for at least the functional life of the facility. The City Park may not be converted to a non-public or non - recreational uses within this time period without the approval of Hennepin County. The City of Corcoran agrees to assume one hundred (100) percent of operational and maintenance costs for City Park. The City of Corcoran will operate City Park for its intended purpose as stated in the City Park remaster application for the functional life of he facility. he City of Corcoran agrees to enter into necessary t T Hennepin County for the specific purpose of develop managing its long-term operation.
