A RESOLUTION APPOINTING DEAN VEHRENKAMP TO THE CORCORAN CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Corcoran received a resignation notice from Councilmember Manoj Thomas
effective July 16, 20210 and
WHEREAS, the City Council declared a vacancy at its July 22, 2021 meeting, and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 412.02 dictates a special election shall be held at or before the next
city election to fill the unexpired term, and
WHEREAS, the City Council may appoint an individual to serve on the City Council until a qualified
successor is elected at the special election; and
WHEREAS, the City Council accepted applications for appointment until 4:00 pm on Thursday, August
1; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has found Dean Vehrenkamp to meet the requirements for appointment to
serve on the City Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Corcoran, that the City Council hereby appoints
Dean vehrenkamp to the City Council, effective September 9, 2021, until a qualified successor is elected
at a special election.
