AUGUST 21, 1997
CALL 10 O-RDERIROLLCALL
Mayor Larkin called the meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. Present were Mayor Larkin, Council Member
Dixie Lindsley, Planning Commissioners John Bucher and Cindy Patnode. Council members Ken
Muck and Ken Guenthner arrived later.
Members absent: Terry Zimmerman, Bill Glowacki, Carl Kalk, Don Jeszewski, Tom Sydloski,
Loren Kohnen, and Ernie Mayers.
Member excused: Toni Hohenstein.
Also present were City Planner Gary Eitel and Deputy Clerk Judy Splett.
There were 2 people in the audience at the meeting.
Gary gave a brief update on the Local Planning Assistance Grant that he made application for the
City of Corcoran to obtaining funding.
Planning Commissioner Bucher requested that the Minutes from the July 17th meeting be corrected
to show that there were 6 people in the audience that attended the meeting.
The Council and Planning Commission discussed the following:
• Land use
• Value of open space / Definition of open space
• Balance of commercial with the remaining land use
• Traffic control
Housing for seniors
Identify the issues
• Clustering vs. strip developing
• Equity for farmers
On a motion by Guenthner, seconded by Bucher, to set the next joint meeting for Thursday,
September 18, 1997 at 7:00 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
On a motion by Guenthner, seconded by Patnode, to direct that a notice be sent to all members
informing them of the next meeting. Also that they are given the task of submitting a written list by
September 11, 1997 identifying their personal views of issues and goals to be obtained in land use,
transportation, natural resources, and community facilities/services.
Motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURN
On a motion by Guenthner, seconded by Lindsley, to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
