JULY 17, 1997
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Larkin called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Present were Mayor Larkin, Council
Members Ken Kluck, Ernie Mayers, Ken Guenthner, Dixie Lindsley, Planning Commissioners John
Bucher, Loren Kohnen, Cindy Patnode, Terry Zimmerman, Bill Glowacki, Carl Kalk, and Don
Jeszewski. Also present were City Planner Gary Eitel, Deputy Clerk Judy Splett, and City Engineer
Vince Vander Top.
There were approximately 6 people in attendance at the meeting.
Gary presented an overview and background information on the 1980 Comprehensive Plan, the 1990
updates, 1995 legislative changes, and the process of developing the next Comprehensive Plan.
The Council and Planning Commission discussed the following:
+ Articulate goals we want to accomplish
Enforcement of the plan
• Creating more zoning classifications
• Re-establish priorities, ie. roads, wastewater issues, water supply
• Commercial areas
• Transportation
• EstabIishing values
Gary was requested to obtain "vision statements" from neighboring cities which will be sent out the
City Council and Planning Commission prior to the next joint meeting.
On a motion by Guenthner, seconded by Bucher, to set the next joint meeting for Thurs., August 21,
1997 at 7:00 p.m. with the agenda including identifying values and establishing procedural steps.
ADJOURN
On a motion by Guenthner, seconded by Kalk, to adjourn the meeting at 9:15 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
