Called to Order
Mayor Guenthner opened the workshop at 6:10 PM., on June 21, 2001. The
purpose of the workshop was to review the employee handbook and city codebook.
Attending
Present: Mayor Guenthner, Councilors Bucher, Gmach and Thomas
Also Attending: Administrator Colotti.
Absent: Councilor Gageby
Employee Handbook
! The City Council completed the review of the employee handbook. Giving
direction for final adoption to take place on July 26th. The harassment
policy and a resolution setting out the various city contribution amounts
will be drafted at presented on July 26th as well.
! The Council made a determination that it was in the City’s best interest to
authorize the Public Works Director to drive the City truck home in order
to improve emergency response time and on-scene identification. All use
must be consistent with state law, including prohibitions on personal use of
the truck, beyond driving to and from work as it relates to the position and
Council authorization.
! Council set the policy manual to require 30 hours per week as a minimum
to be eligible for a variety of benefits. The Council agreed to enter into a
letter of understanding with the two current employees whom work less
than 30 hours per week, and were previously benefit eligible, to extend
benefits outlined in the revised handbook. The benefits shall be under the
same conditions and set in the revised handbook at a pro-rated contribution
based on hours worked.

! Due to time constrains no action was taken on this matter.
