WORKSHOP

Mayor Guenthner opened the workshop at 6:00 p.m., on February 8, 2001. The
purpose of the workshop was to address the process and procedures that would be
followed for the completion of the codification of the city’s ordinances and codes.
Present were Councilors Guenthner, Bucher, Gageby, Gmach, Administrator
Colotti, and Clerk Vergin. Councilor Thomas was excused absent.
Reviewed the agreement with the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC), for the
completion of the codification.
Discussed what the City’s versus the LMC’s role should be in the process.
Administrator Colotti will obtain hard copies and computer discs, if available, of
the ordinances, along with the material provided by Duke Addicks of the LMC.
As soon as that material is available it will be forwarded to the council.
It was the consensus of the council that they would individually look at the areas of
the ordinances to categorize and prioritize the sections. They would be prioritized
by relevance to the comp plan, and then categorized for review by the council, city
staff, the planning commission or the wastewater commission.
This matter will be placed on the February 22, 2001 council agenda, if materials
are available.
A motion to adjourn closed the workshop.
