The purpose of the workshop was to address staffing in the city office and other pertinent city business. Present were Councilors Bucher, Gageby, Gmach, Guenthner and Thomas, Administrator Vergin and Police Chief Schutte. Discussed the Code Enforcement Official position. Some minor modifications were made to the job description. This position is non-exempt, therefore will qualify for overtime. It was noted that this position will include some evening and weekend hours, and therefore their time will need to be managed. The modified job description will be presented at the June 27 council meeting for formal adoption. Once adopted Administrator Vergin and Chief Schutte will proceed forward with interviewing and filling the position. The Council modified the agenda by consensus to include the following items for discussion: Dirt Bike Complaints Waste Water Commission Theis Accessory Structure/Wetland Delineation Addressed a written complaint that had been received regarding the operation of dirt bikes. Chief Schutte will follow up with the complainant to inform him of what action has been taken to date. If continued complaints are received then the city will need to create an ordinance that would be more restrictive on the usage. If it is a continuing problem and enforcement becomes an issue, then the next step would be to eliminate (outlaw) their use within the city limits. Addressed the Waste Water Commission. There had been some correspondence between Chair Jim Bullert and member Paul Jacobs, which was shared with staff and the council. This information will become part of the public record. Due to the lack of time by the council to review this matter, it will be l ooked into further in July. Administrator Vergin was questioned if Dorothy Theis had complied with your conditional use permit by completing the wetland delineation. Vergin replied that she did not believe that this had been completed yet, and would check into it. Addressed the need to have a calendar that would track deadlines for these types of issues. The city does have Microsoft Outlook, will look into using that. Mayor Guenthner closed the workshop at 6:55 p.m. Respectfully Submitted: ____________________________ Susan Vergin, CMC City Administrator Workshop Opened Roll Call Code Enforcement Official Modified Agenda Dirt Bike Complaints Waste Water Commission Theis Compliance Workshop Closed
